Dixons launches Facebook group

DSGi has launched a sponsored Dixons.co.uk group on Facebook  -  the social networking site.

Richard Clark, DSGi’s pureplay marketing manager, told delegates at the Revolution Forum at the Marriot Hotel, Chepstow, that the Dixons new Facebook group would also be promoted via direct e-mail.

The group invites comments from members and will contain product photographs, videos and reviews. 

Like most social networking sites it has a ‘discussion board’ and topics already include: “Do you buy on brand or price?” and “What is at the top of your gadget wish list?”

The Dixons Facebook group will also promote sales via mix of competitions and special member’s discounts.

It also promotes the www.Dixons-Wines.co.uk website by offering a bonus package of wines with a Samsung TV.

In addition, there is a link to the www.dixonsreverseauctions.co.uk website, where customers get the chance to win a variety of expensive goods for “just pennies”.

The winning bidder is the person who has placed the lowest unique bid. It costs £1 to bid either online or via an SMS message.
