| Kef's third generation of home theatre | |
| 05 June 2008 KEF has launched the third-generation of its Home Theatre 2000 Series – the KHT2005.3 5.1 speaker system. It comes with four enhanced satellites and centre channel speaker, as well as the ‘Kube-2’ subwoofer featuring a 250 watt amplifier, 10in drive and an internal volume of 23 litres. According to the company, the Kube-2 delivers a “well defined and impressive bass” and it can be offered as a stand-alone product for use with other home cinema systems. It also has ‘bass boost control’, which allows adjustment of the subwoofer response to compensate for room conditions and user preference. In addition, Kef’s Uni-Q technology is said to disperse sound over a much wider area with no degradation in sound quality, no matter where anyone sits. Available in matt silver or high gloss black, the KHT2005.3 should retail for around £699.
